On 13 January, the convergence of a storm and spring tide on the river Scheldt gave us the opportunity to test the Velox, a mobile flood barrier. This flood barrier deploys faster and is more efficient than the traditional sand bags. In the end, however, the waters did not rise high enough to test the Velox. Fortunately, we were able to test it earlier at the Flood Proof Holland testing grounds.
