Installation of modular stop logs on the ‘Zeeheldenplein’ square in Ostend.
The 80-metre long flood defence wall around the square is deployed during storms, to protect the square against wave overtopping.
When water rises, aluminium stoplogs are placed between 2 U-profiles. When the water rises, the stoplogs fill up to become an extremely solid flood barrier. View here the FOCUS WTV interview: “Ostend better protected against storm surges”.
