Aggéres installed 11 automatic spill barriers (7 single and 4 double barriers) with a containment height of 200 mm, divided into 4 zones, and connected to the company’s compressed air system. These fully automatic spill barriers arealso connected to Essers’ fire alarm system, so that the barriers deploy in case of an alarm in that particular zone. A signal confirming the closing of each individual barrier is sent to the central control unit. The barriers can also be controlled remotely, per zone. The seals consist of highly flexible, chemical-resistant and fire-retardant foam (DIN 4102-B1). The spill barriers comply with the national and international guidelines and all requirements of the EU member states regarding the collection of contaminants and contaminated fire extinguishing water.
